Berkshire confirm early season fixtures despite uncertainty over coronavirus pandemic

Berkshire County Cricket Club have confirmed their 1st XI fixtures for next season - although the early matches could be in some doubt due to the coronavirus pandemic as they are only two and a half months away.

COVID-19 led to all of their competitive NCCA fixtures being cancelled last season, although they did manage to play a few one-day friendlies.

Their traditional curtain-raiser against Wiltshire is due to be played on Sunday, April 11 at Thatcham CC's ground in Brownsfield Road.

The next four Sundays - April 18 to May 9 - will be occupied the T20 competition with Berks playing Wales National Counties at Henley, Buckinghamshire at High Wycombe, Bedfordshire at Wargrave and Oxfordshire at Challow and Childrey CC.

Berkshire's next four games will be over the 50/50 format, starting on May 30 against Bedfordshire at Dunstable.

The reigning title-holders play neighbours Oxon again, this time at Falkland on June 13, followed two weeks later by Wales NC at Newport and then Bucks at Wargrave.

Berkshire open their defence of the championship on July 11 against Wiltshire at Corsham.

The three-day format has now been reduced by two games to just four, with the Stags also playing Dorset at Finchampstead starting on August 1, followed by Oxon at Thame two weeks later and Cheshire at Falkland CC. near Newbury, on August 22-24.
