Aladdin is the theme for this year’s Christmas decorations at Windsor Castle.
The glittering display was unveiled on Friday, November 25.
The main attraction is a 20ft tree bursting with decorations.
It took the Royal Collection Trust’s exhibition team two and a half days to decorate the castle’s state apartments.
A spokesman for the trust said: “Every Christmas a 20ft Nordmann Fir tree is displayed in St George’s Hall and adorned with decorations.
“This year the decorations on the tree include gold lamps, as part of an Aladdin theme.”
The theme is inspired by costumes worn by a young Princess Elizabeth for wartime family pantomimes at the castle.
These costumes feature in the Fashioning a Reign exhibition of The Queen’s wardrobe to celebrate her 90th birthday.
As well as the tree, the grand staircase into the State Apartments was entwined with garlands and fairy lights.
There is also a malachite urn in the Grand Reception Room which contains a festive arrangement of foliage and berries.
The magic of Christmas past storytelling session will take place at the castle every Saturday in December except Christmas Eve at 11.30am, 1.30 and 2.30pm.
