Marlow RFC 3rds 28, Bracknell RFC 4ths 7
After a long lay off due to pitches being waterlogged, Marlow RFC’s 3rd team picked up an encouraging bonus point from their 28-7 win over Bracknell 4ths a few weeks ago.
Now they’re set for another long stretch on the sidelines due to the coronavirus but Paul Tremelling reports they finished off on a high.
This wasn’t by any stretch a classic, with the contest probably registering a new record for use of the whistle.
However, when the game did flow tries were scored and most of them went to the home side.
Raithby-Veall, playing his last game for the club, was first over the line for Marlow, with Hughes bagging the extras.
Falconer then touched down a contender for try of the season, following a move which started in Marlow’s 22. A Wilkie, Robertson combination in the centre delivered a third try for Marlow before Pearce ran in a try right at the death to give the hosts a bonus point.
McCormack this time added the extras.
All rugby across the UK has since been postponed by the RFU due to the coronavirus outbreak.
