Police appeal for witnesses after Windsor stabbing

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed in Windsor.

According to Thames Valley Police, the 39-year-old had been ‘involved in an altercation’ with a group of people in Paddock Close today at about 7am.

During this, he was apparently hit with a metal pole and stabbed in the stomach.

He was able to drive away, but later had to be treated at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

His injuries, described as serious, are not thought to be life-threatening.

Detective Inspector David Turton, from Maidenhead CID, said: “Detectives are investigating the circumstances of this incident and officers have been in the area conducting enquiries.

“I would like to reassure the community that, although the investigation is in its early stages, it would appear the victim is known to the offenders.

“We would like to speak to anyone who saw or heard what happened or anyone who has any information about the incident which could assist with police enquiries.”

Contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 with information.
